You know when you see those commercials that say "1 in 3 pregnancy test are read wrong" & you think to yourself, that one person is an IDIOT! Ya well we have 2 idiots in our house.
We were getting ready to attend a friend of ours wedding and something was telling me to take a test. I had briefly thought about it earlier in the week only to take a test and have it come out clearly negative. So even though something was eating at me to take a test I was still thinking "I took one it was negative it won't magically appear positive now". During some morning pillow talk I reveal to Russ that I have this feeling I should take a test. I told him about the negative test I had taken a few days earlier. So off to the store I went.
Upon returning home it was time to begin getting ready for our friends wedding. I didn't put much thought into taking the test & eventually got around to doing it. I took it. Waited the allotted 5 mins then took a peak. At this point you would think there was tears of joy, running into the other room in excitment to show Russ, but let me tell you what really happened. I looked at the test. Scratched my head. Walked into the other room and tapped Russ on the shoulder & said, "I dunno, what do you think?" he asked what the test should look like if pregnant & I replied "two lines". At this point the test had one very strong line with an extremely faint 2nd line that did not go throughthe entire window of the test. Russ's reply was to take another. This same senerio went on two more times. Both of us reading the test with confusion. Needless to say the entire time we drove off to the wedding I was searching the Internet & trying to find an explanation...am I pregnant or not?!
To error on the side of caution I stayed away from alcohol that evening until I could get in to see a Dr.
As you can tell, we did not have that movie moment of excitement or jumping up and down that we were pregnant. We walked away that night with confusion & questions. So again...how many college degrees does it take to read a pregnancy test? The answer must be 4 or more.
